He never takes me to the movies as he’s such a penny pincher.(彼はこんなにケチなんだから） pinchは、「つまむ」とか「はさむ」とかの意味だが、「切り詰める」や、「搾り取る」などの意味もあり、（一ペニーでも切り詰める人）の意味となる。
